We’re headed back to the Isle of Palms for a luxurious and exclusive gathering—designed with the perfect balance of relaxation and enrichment, outings and downtime. first, i’ll share some retreat basics with you, then the detailed itinerary is below.

Every experience we share here, along the gorgeous coastline of South Carolina, is thoughtfully curated with intention and heart.

Though I wasn’t born into Southern culture, I’ve called this state home for over 20 years and I can’t wait to introduce you to my favorite city. I hope this itinerary feels both inviting and inspiring. Join me for a cozy, midwinter beachfront escape in our mild coastal climate!

Throughout our time together, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to relax, knit to your heart’s content, and connect—whether you arrive with your knitting bestie or find one (or ten!) along the way. We’ll also explore historic Charleston, indulge in delicious meals, and enjoy inspiring workshops led by both myself and talented local artisans who bring a wealth of history and technique to share.

It’s my sincere intention to create an unforgettable, extra-long weekend where your every need is cared for, and your experience feels as special as you are.

Every event is included in your retreat feebut this is your time. Feel free to sleep in, walk along the beach, knit by the pool, or engage in whatever brings you peace.

the itinerary

  • Welcome to South Carolina! Retreat check-in begins at 3pm eastern Get settled in and check out your exclusive goodie bag (including your retreat patterns), shop from Treasure Goddess or the Katy Lin Boutique, or grab your knitting to unwind in one of the many comfy common areas of the house. no one will fault you if you choose to take that beach walk now, either.

Later that evening, our personal Chef will have an incredible Welcome Supper that we will share together. We’ll also have some get-to-know-you activities, including our stitch marker swap, during dinner.

if you aren't able to line up your travel for a 3pm arrival, no worries! i'll stay up all night waiting for you if need be. guests arriving throughout the evening is completely understandable. Travel is stressful enough on its own and we will be sure to save you some dinner if needed!

  • Enjoy your Friday morning while our professional Chef is preparing an amazing breakfast.

A little later, you’ll have the opportunity to join in on a KO workshop if you’d like.

At 6pm, Corey Alston, renowned 5th generation sweetgrass basket weaver will be back with us but this time, he’s bringing us sweetgrass roses that we will by dyeing with indigo.

This evening, we’ll also enjoy another dinner from Chef Sarah.

  • After another fabulous brunch from our personal chef, Saturday is Kristy-Day! Kristy will be providing a weaving workshop and you’ll even get to take home your heddle. The Treasure Goddess herself will be providing a skein of yarn for each guest to use during the workshop, but you’re welcome to bring anything you like.

You’ll have a couple of hours to choose your own adventure before another wonderful dinner. Keep on weaving, sit & knit, lounge by the pool, it’s up to you.

have you walked on the beach yet?

  • After we've enjoyed our retreat home for a couple of days, we are hitting the city! Sunday is charleston day. Of course, don't forget that this is your retreat; if you'd rather stay on the beach, do it! We will head out after brunch and nothing we are doing requires anything but comfy-casual attire.

When you're packing for the retreat, be sure to include whatever type of bag will be most suitable for our day trip so that you can comfortably carry around your essentials as you explore.

We will begin our day in Chucktown with a private historic carriage ride. I chose this weekend and Sunday on particular because on “second sunday” the main shopping street is closed to vehicles and instead, there are street vendors in addition to all the shops that are there every day. There’s so much to see and these local artists are amazing.

You’ll have the afternoon to grab lunch and explore the area(s) of Charleston that interest you most: there are endless options. Go shopping, visit museums, enjoy second sunday, hit the market, and on and on and on.

Charleston is my second home and it is even where my husband proposed over 20 years ago: our 21st wedding anniversary is just a couple of weeks after the retreat itself.

That evening, we will gather for dinner at one of Charleston’s amazing restaurants (it’s a total foodie town!) Your meal & non-alcoholic bevs are included in the retreat fee.

Sunday is the only full day we will be off-site and the Charleston experience I've planned will allow you to make the most of it! When I scheduled our day, I made sure that no one would need to be on their feet for hours at a time. If you follow me on socials or subscribe to my newsletter, you know that I have severe, chronic back pain from spinal fusions that are 25+ years old. I mention this only because I want you to know that I have taken great care to make this day as physically comfortable as possible, even if you have limitations as I do. The amount of walking you'll do will be completely up to you as it will only be during your free time. The planned events are seated. I just know you're going to fall in love with Charleston.

  • On our last full day together, we'll stay primarily on-site to enjoy our ocean front home away from home a final time. During the day you'll have the opportunity to jump in on another KO workshop, shop in-house from Treasure Goddess or my boutique or just knit amidst the gorgeous view and luxurious space.

Those who wish can come with me to visit Wild & Woolly—a local yarn shop nearby! Last year, we even got a group discount!

We’ll enjoy a farewell dinner, our last Chef Sarah feast. You’ll have plenty of chill time on this final day to soak in your experience.

  • I won't send you on your way without sustenance: breakfast will be ready and waiting when you wake. Unfortunately, I can't offer a final lazy morning as checkout is at 9am. I have been told that if it turns out that there isn’t another booking after ours, we might be able to stay for a few extra hours but we won’t know that until February (fingers crossed!)

I know that I'll always remember our getaway and treasure the experience & camaraderie we will build during our time together. I'm hoping you'll leave feeling relaxed, loved, encouraged and perhaps armed with a few new skills!
