Registration Details

this year is a little different

It’s been tricky to know how many guests will register, every retreat is different! So instead of pre-booking our house, I spent a day scouring all the options and making a long list of the luxury beachfront homes that meet my very high standards.

When you register, you’ll choose a slot based on the home that allows for the most guests. This is also the home you’ll be seeing the most pictures of. On the Retreat homepage, there is also a slideshow of many of the homes on my list. By the end of September/ early October, I’ll look at the headcount and book a house based on registrations at that time.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU

  • If you want a Single Room, register ASAP. If I do need to choose smaller home (no less luxurious, I assure you), Single Rooms will be assigned by registration timestamp.

  • If you register for a Single Room and it turns out that I don’t have one for you in the alternate house, you’ll be offered a full refund minus fees (skipping the retreat) or space in a Double Room.

  • If you choose the Double and you’ve paid more than the fee for that bed, you’ll receive a full refund for the difference.

Stitch & Beach ✳︎ ✳︎

New-ish knitter heading to a retreat knowing not one person, sharing a room and bathroom with strangers, what could go wrong? (Spoiler alert: nothing. Absolutely nothing went wrong.) Although I attended Stitch & Beach with seasoned pros of the craft, I never once felt out of place among them. I don’t know how Kate did it, but our group of 16 was simply the best. Whether one-on-one in a quiet corner of the beach house or the whole kit and caboodle of us laughing and stitching away in the big open kitchen and living room, there wasn’t a sourpuss to be found. But what we did find was lots of shared interests, experiences, and boatloads of laughter. Our classes weren’t just technical, they were fun. And the food—oh, my, bring your stretchy pants. But just one pair because you’ll want to keep all the room in your suitcase for all the yarn you can carry. Do I really want to write this and tell you how wonderful it was to get away in the winter to Charleston? Not really, because then you’ll want to steal my spot!”-- Jenni A.
