This vest is worked in one piece from the bottom up featuring crossover ribbing and a sweetheart colorwork design on front. Ribbing at armholes and front is picked up once sweater and hood are knit. Design is a kid-friendly version of Kate’s adult pattern, the Mary Swanson Cardi-Vest. Included are instructions to knit a shorter waist length sweater (shown in Size 4) or a longer, hip-hitting sweater.

  • Yarn: 320 (370, 415, 480)[550, 620, 675] yards A (add’l 35 (40, 40, 45)[45, 50, 55] yards for hip length sweater), scraps each B and C bulky weight yarn
  • Tools: Size 8 (5 mm) needles and set of 5 DPNs (for armhole ribbing), Size 9 (5.5 mm) needles, stitch markers
